About

About Camera Duel

Camera Duel is a camera and lens comparator built on measured data, not impressions.

The site is run by Teddy, 35, a travel photographer based in Vannes (Brittany, France) and a camera analyst since 2010.

The goal is simple: help you choose between two bodies, two lenses, or two generations of the same model — without falling for marketing copy.

Method

Methodology

Every camera and lens on the site is scored from cross-checked specs (manufacturer sheets, DXOMark, DPReview, Photons to Photos, Imaging Resource). The 0-10 photo and video scores are weighted aggregates (sensor, AF, IBIS, codec, ergonomics). The 0-100 use-case scores (sport, landscape, video, studio…) adjust that baseline to what actually matters per practice.

Updates

Specs are refreshed on every major firmware release. Scores are recomputed when a new model lands in our DB. The news pipeline watches 20 international photo/video outlets (DPReview, PetaPixel, CineD…) with a 3-source concordance threshold before publication.

Independence

Camera Duel uses affiliate links to fund the site. They never affect a product's score. No manufacturer gets preferential treatment — the scoring grid is applied mechanically from measured specs.

Trust

Editorial voice

Systematic «spec → impact → verdict» method. Short factual sentences. No emojis, no marketing superlatives, no metaphors. Every number ships with its full unit, and every verdict spells out the concrete deal-breakers (single card slot, AF mismatch, limited lens ecosystem).
